Also, if you have a Vodafone or O2 mobile, you can receive Twitter event notifications on your phone FREE!!!.

To receive notifications on your mobile you will need to set upa Twitter account here: https://twitter.com/signup.

Once logged in to Twitter go to your Settings click on the Devices tab and follow the instructions there.

You can the receive text notifications by either texting follow hiams to 86444 or, from your web browser, make sure you are logged in to Twitter then navigate to http://twitter.com/hiams and click on follow. If the phone icon is greyed out, click on it to turn it green.

If you are not on Vodafone or O2 you will not be able to receive text message event notifications.
